about

There's something about the changing of seasons that we instinctively associate with finding new love, new courage, new opportunity for reflection. This song is about falling deeper in love with someone with the help of time itself. It's about rediscovery and great appreciation of how loved ones make us feel. Fireflies are a symbol of our internal character, of guidance and inspiration, as well as a reminder of how fragile and ephemeral we all are.

lyrics

Borrowing some sunlight
The season’s changing
You can feel the air warm up again
Childlike feelings come round
It’s like you’ve never aged, but somehow
Here you are and

Oh
Fireflies in her eyes returning
Fireflies in her eyes again

Nothing’s really changed, dear
The years, like droplets in an endless sea of time
And you see her daily
But it takes a sunray to remind you that she’s made of light

Fireflies in her eyes returning
Fireflies in her eyes again
Again
Again
Again

Fireflies in her eyes returning
Fireflies in her eyes again
Again
Again
Again
There she goes
